Micheal "Mike" O'Day

Micheal (Mike) Dean O'Day passed away May 13, 2024. Born January 16, 1963, to Herbert (Bud) and Eileen O'Day (Nelson) in Pierre SD. Mike grew up in the Pierre area, enjoying childhood on the river breaks of the Missouri River. Mike graduated from Pierre High School and continued his education at Lake Area Technical College for Diesel Mechanics and Mitchell Technical College for HVAC. Mike married Sandra Richardson and made their home in Pierre. Mike's career was in HVAC, working for Peitz and for the State of SD in Pierre. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting.

He is survived by: Sons Adam and Aaron O'Day. Sisters Mary Ellen Jakeway, Cindy (Greg) Malsam, Wendy (Warren) Peterson. Brothers Ray (Karla) O'Day and Roy (Robin) O'Day. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, sisters Rosie and Kathy, brothers Jerry and Patrick, nephews Eric and Chad.

A Memorial Service is planned for June 1, 2024, from 11am-2pm at the Izaak Walton League-Sunshine Chapter, 1200 Izaak Rd, Pierre SD.
