Stan Carl Kolbo

1961 - 2026

Stan Carl Kolbo passed away March 12, 2026, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from a recent illness.
He was born on May 6, 1961, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Jack and Delaine Kolbo, both of whom preceded him in death. Stan was a resident of his beloved Pierre since 1975. He graduated from T. F. Riggs high school and was a passionate 4-H Rodeo bull and bareback rider during his high school years. Stan had a long career in the construction trades, earning a wide reputation for his strong work ethic and exceptional skill. He will long be remembered for his infectious smile, generous spirit, quick wit, and the ease with which he made friends, of which there are many. He was also a master of the Jitterbug, for which he will be especially missed by his sister, aunts, and cousins.
Stan is survived by his brother Kirk, sister Jackie Francis, nephew Jeffery Smith, niece Jessica Smith Armes, grandnephews Gage Roper, Garrett Bunch, Grayson Bunch, and Parker Smith, as well as his aunts Vollie Ann Williams, Wanda Harris, Carol Layson, and Faye Harding, and numerous cousins. There will be a 'Day of Stan' Celebration of Life service at 2:00PM on Friday, MAY 8, 2026 at the RedRossa Ballroom (808 West Sioux Avenue Pierre, SD).
