Bebe Rush

Bebe Aileene Rush, age 93, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025 in Warrenton, VA. She was born in Abingdon, VA on August 22nd, 1932, daughter of the late George and (Margaret) Evelyn Gobble. Bebe moved to Westminster, Maryland with her husband, John in 1957 and lived most of her life there, working as a realtor for over 30 years. She regularly led the Century 21 team in sales and met many wonderful people through her service around Carroll County and the surrounding area. She was a charter member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Westminster and actively supported Boy Scout Troop 381, where her husband, John, was Scoutmaster. After over 60 years in Westminster, Bebe moved to Waltenwood in Ashburn, Virginia in 2018 where she made many friends and touch many lives. She then moved to Harpers Station in Gainesville, Virginia in 2022 to be closer to her family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in the Warrenton area. As with every place she lived, Bebe easily made friends at Harpers Station and touch many lives there too. Bebe is survived by her son, John Jay Rush, Jr. & his wife, Cynthia of Warrenton, VA and their three children: Peter; Alan, his wife Stephanie and great-grandsons Joey & Sammy; and Jessica, her husband Brandon and great-granddaughter Evelyn; daughter-in-law, Sherri Rush; granddaughters Tracey (Bryan), great-granddaughter Olivia; Beth (Trent), great-grandson Cooper; and Courtney (Guy); and sister, Joyce Dutton (Wayne). In addition to her parents, Bebe is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Jay Rush, Sr.; son, Randy L. Rush; and two brothers, Lowell & Jack Gobble. A celebration of Bebe's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Westminster, Maryland on 1 November at 2 pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (Help fight Alzheimer's) or through an offering to The Bridge Community Church (Worship through giving).
