Betty Leppo Obituary

Betty Joan Leppo, 85, of Hampstead, MD passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at her home. Born May 17, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Leroy Merryman and Catherine Alverta (née Kemp) Merryman. She was the wife of Wayne E. Leppo, her husband of 37 years. Prior to retirement, Betty had worked for Random House in Westminster, MD for several years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Upperco, MD and the Random House Retiree's Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed tennis, swimming, and gardening. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her sons, Gregory Scott Mincher and Brian Kent Mincher, both of Hampstead; stepsons, Anton T. Leppo of Minnesota and Joshua F. Heinicke of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Anna Rae Barnhart and Betty V. Stem; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, beginning at 12:00 noon at Grace United Methodist Church, 4618 Black Rock Road, Upperco. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Bridging Life Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. Arrangements are entrusted to ELINE FUNERAL HOME, Hampstead.
