Carlos Concha Obituary

Carlos Leonardo Concha de Rosado child of God and servant of the Lord, 85, passed away on November 22, 2024 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Mooresville, NC, from complications of Alzheimer's disease, He could not have left this world from a better place with his wife, Betty, daughter Crystal,(David Lloyd) and sons Tony (Darcy) and Kevin by his side. He was loved by so many and had the thoughts and prayers of other family members and friends with him. Carlos was born in Yucatan, Mexico and graduated from Colegio Americano in Merida. After graduating High School, he came to the United States to attend college. He was a graduate of Columbia Bible College (Columbia International University) with a B.A. degree in Biblical Education. He met and married Betty (Hampt) with plans to join the mission field. Carlos obtained a Textile Engineering degree and worked in textile manufacturing before hearing the call to serve once again. As an Ordained Presbyterian minister, he pastored a Hispanic congregation (El Buen Pastor) in the Washington D.C. area for many years. Always looking for ways to help others, he later obtained a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling and finished his career as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor. His guidance and mentoring impacted so many lives. He led youth groups, continued missionary trips to Mexico, building churches and spreading the word of the Lord. He always remained active with the Church and his call to serve the Lord. He remained a sitting Elder with the Presbytery. After retiring, he reviewed biblical courses for students attending Seminary and helped with Translations and Interpretations for Hispanics. His easy-going manner and infectious personality gave him a connection with those he met even up to the time of his passing. His faith in God and dedication to the Lord was prevalent throughout his life. He is survived by brothers Luis, Tommy, Daniel, Felipe, and his sisters Josefa ( Mexico), Ada, Carmen and Gloria, along with two granddaughters Claire and Paige who he lovingly helped raise, and many nieces and nephews all who loved him dearly.
