Dale Barnes Obituary

Dale Leroy Barnes, age 94 of Westminster, died Monday, November 10, 2025 at BridgingLife Dove House. Born August 22, 1931 in Carroll County, MD he was the son of the late Earl L. Barnes and Ruth Barnes Miller. He was the loving husband of the late Doris Anita Blizzard Barnes. He served time in the United States Army, Special Forces, during the Korean War. He graduated from Special Forces training at Ft. Bragg, NC, earned his Green Beret, these being two of his greatest accomplishments. He was a life member of the VFW Post 467, American Legion Post 31, Special Forces Association, Disabled American Veterans, Military Officer Association and member of the Greater Carroll Lions Club. He enjoyed through the years the collection of all his vehicles, especially his Model A, reading and traveling. He is survived by caregiver and special friend Linda Bowen and husband Richard and her family The McDonald's, special friends Stew and Dave Jr., Cecil Snyder. Also surviving are sons Randy and Doug Barnes along with their families, and many close friends from Reese Volunteer Fire Company. He was predeceased by brother Fulton "Gino" Eugene Barnes and sisters Betty Klevey and Bonnie Wyatt. A private service graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Reese Volunteer Fire Company, 1745 Baltimore Blvd. Westminster, MD 21157. Mr Dale was one of a kind, for sure. Always enjoyed our "little talks" and seeing him and Ms Doris drive in and out the lane when I was on Rustic View.

I met Mr. BARNES ON A BUS TRIP SEVERAL YEARS AGO. HE WAS SUCH A IBTERESTING GENTLEMAN TO TALK TO AND SPOKE SO FONDLY OF HIS LATE WIFE. MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
