Daniel Fitchett

Daniel Bernard Fitchett, 81, of Spring Grove, PA passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home. Born July 20, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Andrew Joseph Fitchett, Sr.and Kathryn Gladys (Clark) Fitchett. He was the husband of Linda Christine (Gebhardt) Fitchett, his wife of 47 years. Mr. Fitchett was a graduate of Franklin High School. He spent his entire life working with horses. He retired as a starter with the Maryland Jockey Club. He enjoyed pleasure boating on the Chesapeake Bay for 44 years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Daniel Fitchett, Jr., Craig Fitchett, and Scott Fitchett; daughter, Miriam Fitchett; sister, Nancy Gailey; and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Andrew Fitchett, Jr. and Thomas "Tucker" Fitchett. The family will receive friends Monday, October 4, 2021, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
