Daris Clapsaddle Obituary

Daris Virginia Clapsaddle, age 98 of Taneytown, MD, died February 25, 2025, at Gardens of Gettysburg, Gettysburg, PA. Born April 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clinton L. and Rosa C. Kelly. Daris was a career health care professional working for a private physician's office and the Carroll County Health Department and other health institutions over the years. She also worked for the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster. She enjoyed bowling and bingo and in her younger years she and her husband Monroe would "go to the river" in Harpers Ferry, meet up with family and friends to camp and waterski. She and her husband also attended dances hosted by the local fire department and other organizations. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Brenda Clapsaddle Taneytown and Bonnie Clapsaddle of Union Bridge, grandson, Scott Clapsaddle, great granddaughter, Emily Clapsaddle and nephew, Chris Kelly. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Monroe Clapsaddle in 1982, sons, Michael M. and Steven Kelly Clapsaddle, grandson Kelly Clapsaddle, brother, Clinton Kelly, sister-in-law Ann Kelly. A graveside service will be held on March 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, 44 Frederick St. Taneytown, MD with Rev. Baker officiating.
