Dorothy Wiland Obituary

Dorothy Susanna Wiland, 79, of Hampstead, MD passed away on July 12, 2025, in Westminster, MD. Born December 1, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Necker) Moore. Beloved wife of John Thomas Wiland. Doti was a graduate of Seton Keough High School and married the love of her life in 1965. She had strong roots in family and faith and was loved by many. She enjoyed bowling leagues with friends and time at the beach. She was a devoted dog mom and was known to run dog boarding when her children went on vacation. While raising three girls, she could be found volunteering at school and serving in the PTA. Her servant heart was evident in the love and support she had for family and friends. Being Memaw to five grandchildren was one of her favorite roles. She was a blessing to all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Kareleen Richter, Patricia Louise Crompton, and Carolyn Joyce Wiland; two sisters, Mary Jo Morrow, and Eugenie C. Sliker; and five grandchildren (Shelby, Ryan, Brooke, Nicole, and Drew). Memorial donations in Dorothy's honor are suggested to the American Lung Association. Funeral services have been entrusted to Eline Funeral Home-Hampstead, and are private per the family's wishes. Online condolences may be made at
