Douglas Wayne Rebert, 74, of Millersville, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Hanover, PA, and raised in
Westminster, MD, he was the son of the late Norman Owings Rebert and Almena Rakes Rebert. Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Laurie Tice Rebert; sons, Jonah David Rebert, Millersville, PA and Mark Andrew Rebert (Diana), Lancaster, PA, daughter, Lisa Michelle Rebert (Neil), Amsterdam, Netherlands; brother, Norman Owings Rebert, Jr. (Angie), Princeton, NJ; sisters, Carol "Cookie" Ann Whitenton (Bill),
Westminster, MD, and Frances Yost McGee (Bob), Manchester, MD; and foster brother, Mustak Ebrahimji (Zehra), Tustin, CA. He was predeceased by both parents and a brother, Richard Leon Rebert. Doug graduated from Westminster High School and Franklin & Marshall College with a degree in Political Science. An active participant on campus, he competed as a star wrestler and boldly protested the Vietnam War throughout his undergraduate study. His time at Franklin & Marshall preceded a permanent move to Lancaster where he first worked as a taxi driver, a fact that was not lost on anyone who shared the passenger seat with him. Doug later entered the real estate industry as a salesperson in 1979. Soon after, he became a partner in Concept 100 Real Estate, a company that, through several successful mergers throughout South Central Pennsylvania and the Greater Baltimore Area grew to be Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty. His greatest source of pride lay in harnessing his capacity for leadership to help others achieve their dreams. In business, he believed that a rising tide floats all boats. Following his retirement, Doug became a member of Naples United Church of Christ in Southwestern Florida. He enjoyed worship amongst the Church's beautiful choir and resonated with the congregation's dedication to stewardship and inclusivity. Doug was a proud philanthropist, an unwavering optimist, and a mentor to many. He will be deeply missed by friends and family in admiration of his perseverance, veracity, and cheer. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Angela Wells-Bean officiating. The family will greet friends starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anchor Lancaster, 29 E.
