Edith Marie Myers, 88, of Hanover, PA passed away on June 4, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Helen (Shoemaker) Gray. Edith was born in the first farm house owned by her father, Clifford T. Gray Sr., on Burntwoods Rd. in Howard County MD. Then grew up on the second farm on Pfefferkorn Rd. in West Friendship, MD. Where she met her late husband, George Vernon Myers, they remained happily married for 67 years. Marrying three months after graduating from high school, Edith was a very active homemaker with lots of talents. She had quite the green thumb – working with George landscaping their home properties and having a huge vegetable garden every year. She got great joy from canning and freezing the produce from their gardens. Having learned these preservation skills from her mother on the farm, she was proud to share that knowledge with one of her daughters and two granddaughters. As they downsized their homes, she downsized her vegetable gardening as small as pots on the patio. Her love of houseplants was even bigger than her love for growing vegetables. Violets, gardenias, orchids, Hoyas, holiday cacti, and so many others adorned the biggest windows of her homes. Edith and George were avid square dancers, traveling all over Maryland and Pennsylvania. They served as officers of both the Prettyboy Swingers Square Dance Club and the Maryland Square & Round Dance Association. They also served as Directors of the Maryland State Convention Festival for four years. Edith was a woman who loved the Lord. Through the years, she led Women's Bible Studies in her home, sang in the church choir, and taught Missionettes (a program for young girls in the Assemblies of God.) Most of all, her family was most precious! She loved hearing what each one was doing and went to their activities and functions as much as she was able. They were her legacy and the joy of her life. Surviving are her two daughters, Sandra Lynch and Donna Hendrix; son, Timothy R. Myers and wife, Cynthia Myers; three granddaughters, Heather Conrad, Jessica Hendrix, and Rebekah Myers; three grandsons, Kenneth Lynch (III), Jacob Myers, and Jeshua Myers; seven great-grandsons, Trenton, Aidan, Landon, Jackson, Tatum, Garrett, and Callen; and three great-granddaughters, Heidi, Holly, and Gemma. She was predeceased by a son, George Vernon, Jr. as well as a son-in-law, Kenneth Leo Lynch, Jr. The family will accept guests for visitations held Monday, June 9, 2025, from 3-5 PM & 7-9 PM at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street,
Hampstead, MD 21074. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM funeral home with Chaplain Angel Perez officiating. Interment will follow in Lineboro Cemetery.
