Edward Clingan Obituary

Edward Elwood (Sam) Clingan, Sr. 89 of Keymar, Maryland woke up in the arms of Jesus Christ on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Sam was born on December 20, 1935, in Detour, Maryland, he was one of four sons of the late Edward Augusta and Jennie Margaret Clingan. Sam worked as a carpenter alongside his brothers at Stuller's Construction until retirement. He enjoyed hunting and in his younger years was an avid pool player. He also enjoyed baseball, playing in his younger years, coaching his oldest son and there was nothing like a good O's game! He was a dog lover and enjoyed quiet times on the porch with his wife and their little dog named Missy. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Kenneth (Kenny) and Raymond Clingan and one sister Nadean Bausman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Virginia Clingan, his brother Paul Clingan, his two sons Edward E. Clingan, Jr. and wife Alana, Samson A. Clingan and wife Nicole, and daughter Melissa A. Greenup. Sam was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Littlestown, Pennsylvania where he attended faithfully. A memorial service is schedule for 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Littlestown. Online condolences can be made at www.myersdurborawfh.com
