Edward Foutz Obituary

Edward "Ned" Starr Foutz, born on February 17, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 79. Ned grew up in Westminster, Maryland, and graduated from Westminster High School in 1964. He pursued his passion for engineering by earning an Electrical Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Florida to join Bendix Corporation at Cape Canaveral Space Center, where he contributed to advancements in the aerospace industry. After several years, Ned returned to Carroll County, Maryland, before eventually retiring in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he continued to share his expertise through computer consulting work. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Good Shepherd Center. Ned is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ryle Foutz, Jr. and Henrietta Little Foutz; his brother, Charles Foutz III; and his sister, Louise Newton. He leaves behind a loving family: his devoted wife of 14 years, Shirley A. Redd; his sons, Brian Foutz and his wife Natasha of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Bradley Foutz and his wife Sarita of Catonsville, Maryland; three step-daughters, Heather, Meghan, and Lauren; his grandchildren, Bradley Jr., Ethan, and Vivian; and his sister, Martha Elias.
