Elizabeth Harwood Obituary



Elizabeth A. Harwood, 91, of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her home. She was born on October 21, 1922 in Baltimore. She was the daughter of the late Edwin Ferdinand and Ruth Nama Harris Smith. She was the wife of the late Melvin Harwood, Sr., who died in 1989. She was a homemaker and an avid bingo and card player. Surviving are children Nancy Bosley of Odenton, Melvin Harwood, Jr. and wife Joan of Hampstead and Bruce W. Harwood and wife Mary of Littlestown, PA; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by siblings Mary Majaski and Irvin Berkowitz. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon, at the funeral home, with Rev. Art Monroe, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
