Eric Wantz

Eric Daniel Wantz, 42, of Littlestown, PA died on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA following a valiant battle with cancer. Born July 1, 1976 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Karl Daniel Wantz of Taneytown and Deborah (Young) Myerly of Waynesboro, PA. He was the devoted husband of Emily (Morris) Wantz and the proud father of Madison, Abigail and Gabriel. Eric was a Project Foreman for D&D Drilling in Woodbine, MD for 8 years. He was a country boy at heart who loved life on the farm and driving his old Jeep Wrangler. He was involved in FFA and 4-H and showed in the Dairy Class at the Carroll County 4-H Fair for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He attended Littlestown Chapel and was formerly a member of the Littlestown Eagles. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife Emily, are his daughter Madison and his twins, Abigail and Gabriel; stepmother, Bonnie Wantz of Taneytown; brother, Keith Wantz and fiancé Rachael Hudgins of Burnside, PA; half-brothers, Paul Wantz of Littlestown, PA and Zach Wantz of Taneytown; half-sister, April Long and husband Ryan of Owensboro, KY; grandmothers, Betty Hansbrough of Waynesboro and Julia Wantz of Taneytown; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by stepfather, Ken Myerly and grandfathers, James D. Hansbrough and Karl B. Wantz. A celebration of Eric's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Littlestown Chapel, 1144 Bollinger Rd., Littlestown, PA with Pastor Scott Morgan officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
