Frances Doxzon Obituary

Frances T. McGinnis Doxzon, 88, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at home. Born May 6, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Ruth Grimm Buckingham. Twice married, she was the wife of the late William G. McGinnis, and the late Edgar R. Doxzon. She had been a homemaker. She had also been a licensed practical nurse at Springfield Hospital Center. She was a member of the American Red Cross, Westminster Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion and the Westminster Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law William "Bill" and Vivian McGinnis, of Sykesville; daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Louis Eisenhardt, of Orrtanna, Pa., Linda C. and Francis Tawney, of York Springs, Pa., and Sharon L. and Richard Schuck, of Jarrettsville; a brother, George M. "Buck" Buckingham, of Chambersburg, Pa.; grandchildren Michele P. Hymiller, Sheila J. Meyers, Glenn E. and Kenneth W. Terry, Amber N., Bridget E. and Russell W. McGinnis, Hilmer H. and Russell N. Shackelford, Heather Butts, Jennifer Tawney and Shanna, Samantha and Sarah DuVall; great-grandchildren Monica Hymiller, Ryan, Jenna and Hunter Terry, Samantha Shackelford, Kiah Hooper, Katlyn Ferguson and Jonathan Butts; stepchildren Debra DuVall and John Maykrantz; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Waddell officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
