Gary Hardee Obituary

GARY CURTIS HARDEE, age 64, born June 5, 1954, of Finksburg, Maryland, died Monday, November 5, 2018 at Dovehouse in Westminster, Maryland. Originally from Elizabethtown, KY. Mr. Hardee was a 1972 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. Moving to Maryland in 1976, he started a career in construction as a laborer, and by working hard, climbed the ladder to become a well-respected Chief Estimator, currently employed with Hamel Builders in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a loving husband of 41 yrs to Jill Hartlage Hardee. Devoted father to four daughters, Erica R. Hardee (Justin), Apryl L. Hardee (Anthony), Alana Hardee Barnes (CJ), and Skylar N. Hardee. Proceeded in death by his father, George L. Hardee of Elizabethtown, KY. Survived by: Mother, G. Lavern Hardee of Elizabethtown, KY; Sisters, Pamela Hardee Tate (Randy), Patricia Hardee Raine (Ellis); Grandchildren, Caleb D. Sanders, S. Hayden Spencer, Eva J. Heintz; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. There will be an open house from 4-8 pm on Friday, Nov. 9th. Light fare will be provided. Please email [email protected] for information. Memorial contributions can be made to Carroll County Hospice or the Westminster Rescue Mission.

I worked with Gary as the GC on one of my large scale projects and he was a breath of fresh air, the kindest man, which I really appreciated in an industry that can often be tense. He will be missed professionally for sure.
