Gary Wedeking Obituary

Gary Frank Wedeking, 78, of Westminster died peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Carroll Hospital. Born May 30, 1946, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Pauline G. (Trimmer) Wedeking. Gary was the loving husband, of 52 years, to Gloria J. (Bertrand) Wedeking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam era. He started his career as a Kitchen and Bath Designer at Stuart Kitchens and later became a self-employed sales representative for several large cabinet companies. Gary's favorite place was on a golf course. He also enjoyed taking trips to make memories with his family, supporting his grandchildren in their sports/hobbies, casinos, woodworking and doing home repairs. Gary was a Life Member of Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Co. and could be found, for over 20 years, in the ice cream stand during carnival season and at Thursday night bingo. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Maryland Horse Rescue on Sundays with his family. Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, are his devoted daughters, Andrea Wedeking and boyfriend Mack McDermott and Aimee Kilgore and husband Shawn Kilgore; two beloved grandchildren, Madi and Nicholas Kilgore; sister Bonnie Wedeking Boring; brother-in-law and best friend Joe Bertrand and wife Lisa; sister-in-law Maria DiMatteo; dear friends Jim and Mary Jane Becker and numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster on Sunday, June 30th from 12 - 2pm, where a memorial service, with military honors, will begin at 2pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland Horse Rescue at https://mdhorserescue.org/donate, which is 100% volunteer-run, Carroll Hospital Center https://gratitude.lifebridgehealth.org/page/28394/donate and/or Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Company, 1745 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157.
