George Buckingham Obituary



Mr. George M. "Buck" Buckingham, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, died Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Hershey Medical Center. Born July 15, 1935 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late George M. Buckingham, Sr. and Clarissa (Haines) Buckingham. Mr. Buckingham was a graduate of Westminster High School, Westminster, MD. He retired from Allied Signal in Columbia, MD, in 1989. Mr. Buckingham was a member of Bert J. Asper American Legion Post #46, Chambersburg and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by two children, Karen E. Loftice of Taneytown, MD, and Lisa M. Foreman of Westminster, MD; two step-children, Debra S. Freeman of Waynesboro, and William E. Crist, Jr. of Greencastle; three grandchildren; and his companion, Dorothy Beltz of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Louise (Beltz) Buckingham; and one sister. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.

So sad to learn of Buck's death. He and my parents (Ava and Ralph Condon) we're longtime friends and I knew Buck for most of my life. Sending my heartfelt sympathy to Dorothy and the family.
