George W. Yingling

1938 - 2022

George William Yingling 84, of Westminster passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 11, 2022, at Peak/Copper Ridge Facility in Sykesville. Born June 4, 1938, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Scott and Rebecca Robertson. He was the loving husband of Nancy Lee Yingling, his wife of 52 years. George was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and would often reminisce about his time spent in Germany. He retired from the Carroll County Board of Education in July of 2000 and spent the next 19 years loving life as a school bus driver for Rills Bus Service for special needs children alongside his wife Nancy as his bus aide. George was an amazing cook, an expert in all trades, extremely creative and a collector of everything. More than anything else George loved his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his daughter Tammy Severe and spouse Larry, his beloved grandsons Shawn Singer and spouse Sara and Ryan Singer. His adored great grandchildren Natalie, Olivia, Lila, Ryder, Ally, and Jack; sister Sis Turnbaugh of Owings Mills. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Ed, Mary, Dolly, Helen, Harry, Vonnie, Joan, Becky and Stu. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 4:00pm where a memorial service will begin at 4:00pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Interment will be private.
