Janet Parrish

Janet Louise Parrish, age 92 of Taneytown, MD died on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Mercy House of Chambersburg, PA. Born October 2, 1932, in Gettysburg PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma (Study) Sentz. Janet was very active in the community; she was president of Taneytown Ladies Auxiliary and of Carroll County Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was a longtime member of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren. She is survived by sons, Tom Parrish and wife Patty of Gettysburg, PA, Mike Parrish and wife Sherrie of Taneytown, MD, Jim Parrish and wife Susie of Granite Falls NC, and Eddie Parrish of Hanover PA; daughters, Kim Poff and Vicki Parrish and companion Ted Rill all of Taneytown, MD; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Sentz of Littlestown, PA and sister, Nadine Combs of Lenore NC. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice "Moe" Parrish in 2002; son, William Parrish; daughter, Cathy Jenkins; brothers, Ralph, David, Bill and Richard Sentz and her faithful Jack Russell, Buddy. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. with viewing hours from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, 4699 Teeter Rd. Taneytown with Rev. Stan Diehl officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 6th. Interment will follow the service at Piney Creek Church for the Brethren Cemetery.
