John Reever Obituary

John M. Reever, Davenport, Florida, formerly of Taneytown, Md, died August 20, 2023. He was Born January 21, 1940 in Taneytown, Md., the son of the late Glenn O. Reever and the late Genevieve Reaver Reever. He was a 1958 graduate on Taneytown High School and attended Gettysburg College. He married Nancy Wentz Reever, his wife of 62 years on December 10, 1960.John worked at Arlington National Cemetery at the time of John F. Kennedy's death then moved to the Army ad Air Force Exchange Service (PX/BX), servicing in Virginia, Vietnam, Germany, Japan, Maryland, South Carolina and Florida. After his retirement he spent his time giving to the Church where he served as a soloist in various churches, taught Sunday School and special Bible Study groups, and finally finished as a Certified Lay Minister in the United Methodist Church where he preached many Sundays throughout the area. John never forgot his hometown but also loved living in Davenport Florida for the past 25 years. A Celebration of Life Service was held at First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred, Florida on 23 September 2023, where he was a member.
