John Regal

1934 - 2021

John Ray Regal, 86, of Westminster, died Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born December 2, 1934 in Kingston, PA, he was the son of the late Margaret Mangold Regal and Peter Regal. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Marie Regal. Before retiring he worked as an industrial designer. He was a proud alumnus of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the Army Reserves and was a history buff. Throughout his life, he was very active in the Lutheran Church, becoming a Stephen Minister in 2019. He is survived by friend Carole Kaberle; children Linda Knauff and husband Brian of Westminster, Laura March and husband James of Westminster, and Mark Regal and wife Kara of Ellicott City; sisters Esther Frick and Joan Thomas; nine grandchildren – Stephanie and Megan Knauff; Ethan, Christian, Andrew, and James March; and Madeline, Grace, and Sarah Regal. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6004 Waterloo Road, Columbia, MD 21045. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Columbia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
