John Warnken Obituary

John Clark Warnken, age 86 of Westminster, MD went to be with Jesus at 5:10pm on Monday the 15th of September. He was born on April 19th, 1939 in Baltimore, MD. For 17 years he was a Maryland State Trooper before he and his family moved to Senegal, West Africa as missionaries in 1979. He spent 24 years there amongst the Baynouk people, learning their language and culture to be able to teach them about God's great love for them through Jesus Christ. After he and his wife returned stateside, he continued to serve with New Tribes Mission as a representative to churches on the East Coast. He then became Missions and Discipleship Pastor for Hampstead Baptist Church in Hampstead, MD. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara, and is survived by his two children, Lee (Tammy) Warnken and Laurie (Tim) Fyock. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was loved by all. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD 21074. A second viewing will be held at Hampstead Baptist Church, 328 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, Maryland on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00-11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Hampstead Baptist Church, 328 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, Maryland 21074.
