Judith Charnovitz

1949 - 2021

Judith Fenyes Charnovitz, 72, of Hampstead, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Carroll County Dove House in Westminster. Born May 19, 1949 in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Albert B. Shields, Jr. and Angela C. (nee Citrano) Shields. She was the wife of the late Stuart H. Charnovitz, who died in 2019. Judith was a graduate of Mount de Sales Academy and a member of the Academy Alumnae Association. She had been employed for 40 years at the Social Security Administration, working in benefits authorization. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Manchester. She enjoyed spending precious time with her family, vacationing in Ocean City, MD, home decorating, and gardening. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Tania Fenyes; granddaughter Gwenivere M. Fenyes; sisters, Barbara Ring and Joan Carll; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kathy Shields; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces; and great-nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester. Her pastor, the Rev. Father Michael Roach will officiate. Interment will follow in Hampstead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Mount de Sales Alumnae Association, 700 Academy Road, Catonsville, MD 21228 or to the Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
