Kay Kunkle Obituary



Kay Francis Kunkle, 73, of Finksburg, died unexpectedly Monday, March 17, 2014, at home.

Born Jan. 26, 1941, in Morgantown, W.Va., she was the daughter of late Lloyd K. Colbun and Braxie Hunt Cobun. She was the wife of the late Richard Edward Martin; and the wife of Walter Lewis Kunkle, her husband of 44 years.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and companion Janet Martin and Carl Worthington, of Virginia, Cheryl Powell and husband Jim, of Colorado, and Candy Walker and husband Scott, of Bel Air; son Richard Martin II and wife Lisa, of Sykesville; brother Lloyd Cobun II and wife Donna; a friend, Anna Margaret Belt; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A graveside service will be held at noon Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
