Lawrence Kreit Obituary
Lawrence Anthony Kreit, 93, of Hagerstown, formerly of Hampstead, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at the St. Catherine's Nursing Home in Emmitsburg.
Born Jan. 22, 1921, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George Kreit and the late Mary Rohe Kreit. He was the husband of Elinor M. Kreit, who died in 2002.
He attended St. Anthony's Catholic School in Baltimore. He owned 7-Up Bottling Company for many years. He was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania.
Surviving are daughter Elinore Frush and husband Marvin, of Manchester; sons Larry Kreit and friend Sharon Savage, of Port Orange, Florida, and Wayne Kreit and wife Linda, of Hagerstown; brother William Kreit and wife Janet, of Westminster; grandchildren Pamela Fuhrman, Patricia Mazzone, Bruce Kreit, Julie Whitt and Christopher Kreit; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers Joseph, George and John Kreit.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service, 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown, with the Rev. Robert Malagesi officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Rita Parish, P.O. Box 704, Blue Ridge Summit, PA 17214.
