Matthew Thomas Brooks

Matthew "Matt" Thomas Brooks, 47, of Westminster, passed away from a medical emergency on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born December 1, 1977 in Westminster, he was the son of Charles W. Brooks, Sr. and Marian D. Brooks of Taneytown, MD. He was the loving husband of Tracy Brooks; step-father of Kamryn Duvall; brother of Charles Brooks, Jr., Kevin Brooks (Heather), and Kimberly Livelsberger (Christopher); and also leaves his devoted dog, "Brookse". He grew up on the family farm in Taneytown, MD. He was a proud graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and a dedicated employee of UtiliQuest, for over 27 years. One of Matt's greatest passions was coaching for the Westminster Wildcats football program, a role he cherished for more than 20 years. He loved working with youth and devoted himself fully to the organization. In his free time, Matt enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and cheering on his favorite team, the Washington Redskins. He was also known for restoring and meticulously maintaining his classic car, frequently attending car shows to share his passion with others. Matt loved his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 5 to 9pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery.
