Meagan Karn Obituary

Meagan R. Karn, 28, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, May 19, 2012.

Born April 10, 1984, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Robert J "Buck" and Cheryl M. Karn.

She was a 2002 graduate of South Carroll High School. She was working as a horse handler at Paradise Stables in Mount Airy.

She enjoyed working with her rescue horses, hiking, camping, attending music festivals, rock climbing and spending quality time with family and friends.

The Humane Society of the United States donated and planted a dogwood tree in her honor for her service with rescue horses.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a paternal grandfather, Robert J. Karn, of Boyds; and a maternal grandfather, Julius L. Levatich, of Florida.

She was predeceased by a paternal grandmother, Dr. Sandra O. Karn; and maternal grandmothers Ruth N. Levatich and Elizabeth Levatich.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 12:30 p.m. Friday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dennis Yocum officiating.
