Melvin Carlson Obituary
On December 12, 2014, Melvin Oscar Carlson, Jr. cherished husband of the late Diane V. Carlson, devoted father of Eric S. Carlson, Patricia L. Carlson, M.D., and Kathleen C. Hilzendeger, beloved grandfather of 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson, loving son of Aleatha Carlson and the late Melvin O. Carlson, Sr. and loving brother of Les & Gail Carlson and Helen & Dick Larrick. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral, Inc. 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26) on Sunday 2-6 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday 11 AM. Interment Highview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Melvin's name to Wildlife Rescue, Inc., Monkton www.wildliferescueinc.org or Fallston Animal Rescue www.fallstonanimalrescue.com.

Les, Gail and Family--I am so sorry for your loss. I missed Mel at our 55th year Westminster High School class reunion in September. I did not see him often over the years, but when I did, he did not seem to change--same kind and caring person as he was when he was a teenager.

I grew up living next to Mr. Mel and cared for him deeply. My wife and I always looked forward to seeing him and his very special Christmas cards. He will be greatly missed. We are very sorry for the loss of such a treasured man.

I am truly saddened by the loss of Mel. He was one of the finest individuals I have known; sincere, down to earth and never pretentious. I worked with Mel for 15 years at Black & Decker and have remained friendly with him since I left in 1983.
