Mildred Cooper Obituary
Mildred Irene Cooper, age 85 of Waupun, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by family.
Mildred was born on June 2, 1929, the daughter of Edgar and Agnes (Gilbertson) Mercer in Spring Green of Sauk County, WI. She was a graduate of Lone Rock High School. On October 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Calvin Cooper in Richland Center, WI.
Mildred was very much a family person. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mildred loved listening to polka music and going dancing with her husband as well as traveling the county.
Mildred is survived by Calvin Cooper, her husband of 66 years, two daughters, Shirley (Rob) Tagstrom of Coppers Cove, TX; and Avis (Lewis) Sierra of Fond du Lac, WI; three grandchildren, Scott Feiner, Heidi (Anthony) Curington and Jackie Dowland; two step-grandchildren, Patrick and Jackie Sierra; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Strege, Jason Strege and Ry Feiner and two step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jonah Kaprelian; one sister Dorothy (Hale) Duhr of Janesville, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, WI. Private burial will take place at the Forest Mound Cemetery.
