Milton Maurice Harris

1927 - 2021

Milton Maurice Harris, 94, of Westminster passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born on October 5, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Milton was the son of the late Michael M. Harris and Irene Sophie Yelle Harris. His cherished late wife, Mary C. Harris, predeceased him December 24, 2017. Milton was a U.S. Army WWII era veteran. After his discharge, he earned a B.S. degree in business from Loyola College in Baltimore. He was president/CEO of Maryland National Leasing Corporation, and executive vice president of MNC Affiliates Group. In that capacity, he testified before the US Senate and was featured in a Profiles of Excellence as an industry leader. Milton was passionate about and worked as an early advocate for funding and development of Target Inc. a nonprofit for adults with physical or intellectual disabilities headquartered in Westminster, Maryland. Surviving Milton are his two daughters Dr. Mary Kesselring (PhD), and her husband Timothy Cox and Linda Harris, all of Westminster. He leaves 3 grandchildren, Corey James and wife Chrystal of Westminster; Derrick Holbert and wife Lisa of Tampa, FL; and Matthew Holbert of Freeland, Maryland; 3 great-grandchildren, Justice Jordan; Michael Holbert; and Aura Sophia. In addition to his wife and parents, Milton was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Troutfelter, and his daughter Mary's husband Curtis Kesselring. Milton was an avid reader who enjoyed the complete works of William Shakespeare. Milton enjoyed golfing and duckpin bowling. He was an avid Republican. Always a prankster, Milton loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom he provided his "words of wisdom" and belief that it was "Ok to march to the beat of a different drummer". Milton was his family's "rock". The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A Celebration of his Life will begin at 6 pm with Chaplain Charles Marshall officiating. Interment will be private.
