Murray A. Schwartzman

Murray Allen Schwartzman, 74, of Reisterstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center after a 2½-year battle with leukemia.

Born Jan. 3, 1939, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Abraham and Florence Jean Schwartzman. He was the husband of Paula Kroh Schwartzman, his wife of 42 years.

He was a graduate of Baltimore City College and the University of Maryland, where he taught ROTC, and attended the University of Maryland Medical School. He also graduated from Officer's Candidate School as a 2nd lieutenant. He served in the Air Force ending his service as a captain.

He was the owner of MAS Associates and traveled extensively as a sales representative for numerous flooring supply companies.

He enjoyed golfing, tennis, football, travel, especially to Williamsburg, Va.; and dining out.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sister Dolores Zuckerman and husband Martin, of Pikesville; nieces Carol Zuckerman and husband Barry Goldstein, and Susan Pearl and husband David; and numerous other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Benjamins (Kriders) Lutheran Church, 700 Kriders Cemetery Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Schafer. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 Painters Mill Road, Suite 800, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
