Rae Margaret Murray

Rae Margaret Murray, 89, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Carroll Lutheran Village surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 19, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, Rae was the daughter of the late William and Rae (Paskill) Watson. Married for 57 years, she was a dedicated and loving wife of Dr. John L. Murray, who predeceased her in 2015. Rae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westminster. She was very involved in the church activities and was a part of the choir. Rae thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors. In the past, she enjoyed kayaking and traveling and most recently enjoyed joining the walking group at CLV. Rae also enjoyed reading and going out to eat with her friends. Earning her master's degree in media/technology she was a lifelong learner. A teacher for 30 years, she gave her heart and soul to children. She loved spending time with family, vacationing at the beach, golfing, running and being active. She taught her legacy to love, respect and embrace others who were less fortunate and inspired her children to do the same. Rae is survived by her children, Lynne Klingelhofen and husband, Edward, Doug Murray and wife, Sharon, and Kim Mclaughlin; brother, William "Bill" Watson, Jr. and wife, Cathy; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will welcome friends on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4 to 6pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, MD. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, 65 Washington Road, Westminster, with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating.
