Richard Watson Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband and father, Richard Jung Watson, who left us on January 1, 2025 at the age of 82. He was a loving husband to his wife Mary for 58 years, a steadfast and compassionate father to his 2 children: Mac and Maggie. A man of humor; his warmth and kindness made those around him feel at ease. Born on November 9, 1942, to Margaret Jung Watson and Richard A. Watson in Baltimore. His career started in the banking profession and become the Executive Director of the American Institute of Banking. Richard then was the Executive Director of the Maryland SPCA, Board member of Lupus Mid-Atlantic and President and Board member of the PAR fund- Baltimore County Police Assistance and Relief. He is survived by his wife, Mary McQuillan Watson, son Richard M. Watson, and daughter Maggie M. Rauser, as well as 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter. Services and interment private. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Carroll Lutheran Village's benevolent fund. 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster MD 21158. Online condolences may be made at: FLETCHERFUNERALHOME.NET

Charlie, Grady, Jess and I are very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. While we didn't know him well, his love for animals was incredibly apparent in the spirit he instilled in Charlie. His impact on her life, and by extension Grady, Jess, and my own cannot be overstated. A donation to BARCS has been made in his honor.

Dick was the person who lit up a room when he entered. After banking he performed facility management and was great at his craft. I'll remember him greeting me, Martha B. in his shorts and suspenders. He brought so much happiness to us all. Thank you Dick for your dedication to animals, police officers, and those of us with auto immune diseases. We love and miss you Dick
