Roy VanDerLinden Obituary

Roy E. VanDerLinden, 94, of Hanover, beloved husband of Clara P. Edwards VanDerLinden, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Homewood at Plum Creek. Born on Saturday, February 1, 1930 in Colorado Springs, CO, he was a son of the late Edward VanDerLinden and Urva Geness Elizabet Larkin VanDerLinden. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jay VanDerLinden; and a brother, Clifton Willis VanDerLinden. Roy retired from National Bureau Standards in 2015, but he felt like he never worked a day in his life. He enjoyed art, especially with oil and pastels. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Gerald Edward VanDerLinden and his wife, Jody, and Janet Lyn Hughes and her husband, Donnie; four grandchildren, Sara Lynn Miller and her husband, Andy, Ryan Michael VanDerLinden, Aaron Michael VanDerLinden and his wife, Katie, and Kevin Joseph VanDerLinden and his wife, Erica; three great grandchildren, Annaleyna Grace VanDerLinden, Zeke Copf VanDerLinden, and Jackson Jay VanDerLinden; and a daughter in law, Laura Peeling. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July6, 2024 at Homewood at Plum Creek Chapel, 425 Westminster Avenue, Hanover. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
