Russell Fritz

Russell Cooke Fritz 74 of Ft. White, Florida passed into the arms of our Lord on Aug 3, 2021, with his sister Teena and brother in law Darrel by his side. The son of the late Wilbur (Wimpy) and Audrey Nusbaum Fritz. He was born in Frederick, Md. and was raised in Union Bridge, where everyone knew him as Rusty. He graduated from FSK High School in 1965, joined the Coast Guard and was then employed by the Md. State Marine Police, Kent Island, Md. Moving to Florida in 1971, he joined the Tamarac Police Dept. and later the Florida Highway Patrol from which he retired. He was a gunsmith and owned Russ' Gun Shop in Ft. White. He was a Mason and a member of VFW Post 8806. He was predeceased by infant son Eric Andrew, his parents and his wife of 49 years Lois, who passed on April 28, 2021. He is survived by his sister Teena (Darrel) Gordon of FL. Lois' children Bob Green (Sue) of FL, Charles Green (Linda) of CA and Linda Smith (Chip) of VT. 9 Grandchildren and several great grands and great great grands. Arrangements were made by Guerry Funeral Home. There will be no memorial service at this time.
