Steven Moxley Obituary

Steven Joseph Moxley, Jr., 33, of Taneytown passed unexpectedly in an automobile accident, Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born Wednesday, December 11, 1991, in Baltimore, he was the loving son Steven Joseph, Sr., and Kathryn Pauline Moxley, nee Dougherty of Taneytown; beloved husband of Arica Marie Moxley, nee Wilson, of Taneytown, his wife of 5 years, whom he married Friday, November 15, 2019; devoted father of Jackson Silas and Adeline Layne; cherished brother of Ashley Eyler and her husband Robert; exceptional son-in-law of Dawn and Timothy Wilson; fond brother-in-law of Andrew and Hailee, and Kyle and Abbey Wilson; uncle to his wonderful nieces and nephews, Alivia, Austin, Graham, and Reagan. He was predeceased by his grandparents Leroy and Pauline Dougherty, and William and Delores Moxley; and his cousin Rebecca Michelle Dougherty. Mr. Moxley was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for four years and then went on to work as a Military Contractor for United States Government employed by DCSA. He enjoyed drinking beers of all kinds, particularly a good Hazy IPA and was most fond also of any free beer. When not enjoying a good free beer he loved bowling, basketball, bicycling, camping, hiking, and playing video games of all kinds. He was constantly exercising and was always in continual motion, never really staying still. Family was an important part of his life and was always up for a good celebration. He was a member of the Westminster American Legion Post 31 and the Harney VFW. His love for all things free was ever present through his whole life and was often heard saying, "If it is free, It's for me". The family will receive friends for a Celebration of his Life, 5-9 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Westminster American Legion, Post 31, 2 Sycamore Street, North, Westminster, MD 21157. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Moxley's name to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
