Theodore Murray Obituary
Theodore Francis "Ted" Murray, 66, of Eldersburg, died late Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Copper Ridge in Sykesville.
Born Dec. 14, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late George F. and Stella Kresovata Murray. He was the husband of Katherine Corley Murray, who he married March 17, 2007.
He served in the Army in Vietnam. He was an office manager for NCR, formerly National Cash Register, in the Philadelphia, York, Columbia and Rockville offices. He also worked for CHANGE, Inc. in Westminster and Time for Kids Daycare.
He was a member of Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Ellicott City, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and also served the same post at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. He enjoyed volunteering at Springfield Hospital Center and at the Westminster Nursing Home, where he played Santa Claus for several years. He was a member of V.F.W. Molleville-Farm Post 467 and American Legion Carroll Post 31 in Westminster, and the Knights of Columbus in Ellicott City.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed going on cruises and collected model trains. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Baltimore Orioles and Barry Manilow.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ann Butcher Murray.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Drive, Ellicott City, with Monsignor James McGovern officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Saint Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr, N.J.
