Wallace McKinney Obituary

Wallace Fain McKinney, 73, of Westminster, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born April 6, 1942 in Burnsville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Leel and Fred McKinney. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Joy Beth McKinney. Before retiring he worked as a brick mason. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, building and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Mindy McKinney, Macie McKinney, Kathy Rhodes, Karen Blankenship and Keith McKinney, siblings Iva Jean Barker, Iris McKinney, Melva Chandler, Hattie Bailey and Eddy McKinney. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by several brothers and a sister. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, followed by a reception at the McKinney residence for family and friends.

Pinch Valley Road lost a very good neighbor. Wally was a very good hearted person and could always put a smile on you face if you were having a down day. He like to share his garden with us if he had to many veggies.
the girls and joy have a guardian angel in the heavens now.
there is also another bright star in the heavens to shine at night and its name is Wally. Wally may be gone in body but not in spirit.
