Wesley R. "Bob" Hartwell

Wesley Robert "Bob" Hartwell, 53, of Sykesville, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Born May 1, 1956, in South Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of the late Wesley Ray and Jewel Danese Boone Hartwell. He was the husband of Janet Louise Jesneck Hartwell. He had worked as a director of engineering for Advanced Programs Inc. in Columbia. He enjoyed working with his son at home in their garage. He enjoyed collecting and restoring cars. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Eric M. Hartwell, of Sykesville; a father-in-law Howard F. Jesneck, of Sykesville; and friends Chuck and Robyn Ecker, Craig and Ann Chenoweth, Shar Hohmes, Brad and Rose Hohmes and Lee and Katie Prince. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Scott Hartwell. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
