William Rhoten Obituary

William Andrew Rhoten, 78, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his home.
Born Nov. 25, 1930, in Greenmount, he was the son of the late Wilbert Augustus Sr. and Alma Fourhman Rhoten. He was the husband of Nancy Ann Miller Rhoten, his wife of 59 years.
He was a lead man in the plastics department for 21 years with Black & Decker. He had also worked for Modern Comfort. He enjoyed trips to Charlestown, sitting on his swing underneath his maple tree and working outside.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Dianne Rhoten Black, of Manchester, and Dennis Eugene Rhoten and fiancée Stephanie May, of Finksburg; a brother, Wilbert A. Rhoten Jr., of Westminster; and grandchildren Carrie Black, Katie Barron, Jennie Black and Troy Rhoten.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Lee Rhoten; and a brother, Carlin Rhoten.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Michael Adams officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Steltz Cemetery in Glenrock, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
