Laurel Marie Felber

1956 - 2023

Laurel Felber passed away peacefully on February 7th, surrounded by loving family. She is survived by her husband, Paul Addison, and her sister, Lynette Felber (Steven Newmark) of Bellingham. She is also survived by another sister, Lorianne Callison, of Tacoma, WA and by a nephew, Garrett Felber, of Portland, OR.

Laurel moved to California as an infant. She grew up in San Diego, and in 2007 she was reunited in Bellingham with Paul, her childhood sweetheart, the love of her life.

A talented watercolorist, Laurel exhibited her paintings at the Blue Horse Gallery. She travelled to France and Italy to paint in famous gardens of European artists. In Tuscany, she visited the sculpture park of Niki de Saint Phalle, her favorite artist.

Laurel had a passionate appreciation of music from Beethoven to the Beatles to YES -- and most of all, Todd Rundgren.

A beloved teacher in the toddler center at Whatcom Community College, Laurel had completed an Education degree at WWU and a B.A. at UCSD.

Laurel was committed to environmental causes and protested the fossil fuel trains passing through Whatcom County. She will be missed by family and the Bellingham artist community.

A celebration of life will be held at a date TBD.
