Ernest McFarland Obituary

Ernest Ray McFarland, of Spring Hill, Fla., passed away on Nov. 11, 2020, at Bayfront Health Hospital Spring Hill. He was born Dec. 28, 1956.
He was born in Liberty, Ky., and moved to Florida about 38 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of VFW 8681, American Legion, and the Elks. He loved all types of sports, especially golf.
He is predeceased by his parents Woodrow and Edith McFarland, a sister Bernice, a son Brian Ray, and a brother Johnny McFarland.
He left behind his loving wife of 23 years Christine McFarland of Spring Hill; four children: William McFarland, of Texas, Brent (Rachel) McFarland, of Wash, Kristen (Phil) McCarger, of Mont., Amanda (Nicholas) Thayer, of Colo.; seven siblings: Louise (Ancil) Smith, of Ind., Helen (Marshell) Caudill, Jr. (Elva) McFarland, Eva Johnson, Phillis (Joe) Cooper, Mike (Ethyleen) McFarland, and Pam (Travis) Burton, all of Liberty; and 13 grandchildren: Kadence, Payton, Lexington, Layla, William Jr., Isaiah, Michael, J'Lae, Kara, Lilly, Andrew, Amelie, and Emery.
Services were at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl., at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 1, with a celebration of life following at the VFW Post 8681.
