Les Murphy Obituary
Born June 26, 1947 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Wesley Thomas Murphy and Carmon Earcel Mason Murphy.
He was a paralegal and attended the Church of Christ. Les loved politics and was a law clerk for Judge James Weddle. He was a former EMT for Casey EMS and a former Lexington police officer and EKU police officer.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Faye Dalton Murphy, whom he married Nov. 24, 1981; a son, Donavan Murphy of Frankfort; two stepsons, Andrew (and Sharon) Richardson of Liberty and Aaron Richardson of Monticello; a daughter, Nikki (and William) Wethington of Liberty; six grandchildren, Ashley, Zach, Hunter, Autumn, and Thomas Richardson and Lauren Wethington; three sisters, Dorothy Watson of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Mary Ann (and Les) Russell of Liberty, and Ina Fay (and Ronald) Eads of Franklin, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Georgeanna Murphy of Liberty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley "Buck" Murphy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at McKinney-Brown Funeral home with Bro. Robert Atwood and Roger Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Murphy Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Junior, Cody, and Casey Weddle, Roger Thompson, Dustin McAfee, and Ronnie Joe Eads.
