Lila McDonald Obituary
Lila was born in Gordon County, November 11, 1929, daughter of the late Sam Henry Leatherwood and Ella Virginia Owen Leatherwood. She was a member of the Oakman United Methodist Church. Lila was a schoolteacher for more than 50 years, teaching for the Walker County School System prior to her retirement.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, May Ella McDonald and her special friend, Janis Harwood.
The family received friends on Friday, December 16th from 1 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 16th at 2 PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Lanford and Rev. Louise Elmore officiating. Burial followed in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Oakman.
Pallbearers serving included: Larry Ware, Scott Fox, Dr. Charles Scott, Alex Hopper and John Johnson.
