Barbara "Barbie" Joan (Lang) Barton, 89

Barbara "Barbie" Joan (Lang) Barton, 89, of Hayden, Idaho was called home by Jesus to join her loving husband, Don, who died ten days before. Don died at 12:51AM on October 1, 2025 and Barbara died at 12:58AM on October 11. They were wrapped in the same quilt provided by Hospice. October 7, 2025 was their 70th wedding anniversary. Barbie was born April 21, 1936 in Colfax, Washington to William Lang and Emma Jean (Schott) Lang. She was one of six children.

She grew up in Colfax and then Pullman, Washington, graduating from Pullman High School.

Barbie married her high school sweetheart, Donald R. Barton on October 7, 1955 in Pullman, Washington where they lived until 2016. She worked at WSU in the Publication Bindery Building from the late 50's to retirement and then with Don, she worked for Dr. Wenzell Leff, at Pro Mall, and apartment complexes doing janitorial and maintenance.

Barbie was active in Pullman Jaycees and the Junior Miss Program. She was a member of the Pullman Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, and water aerobics. She loved tanning by the lake when at the family cabin at Lake Chatcolet. Spending time with her sisters and their families was important to her.

Barbie is survived by daughter, Denise Pruitt of Hayden; sister, Shirley Lehrkind of Auburn, Washington; much loved grandchildren: Sky Pruitt (Susan) of Rathdrum, Lacey Thurman (Eric) of Hayden, Scarlett Milbourn (Mark) of Rathdrum, and Rainy Barton of Spokane; seven great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all but one sibling; sons, David R. and Daniel; as well as her in-laws and cousins who she loved and spent much time with.
