Carlyn Dickerson Obituary
Carlyn Joann Dickerson passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by love, holding her husband Tom's hand for the last time. Her final words, "I love you," spoke volumes about the devotion and kindness that defined her life.
Carlyn was born on March 19, 1942, in a cozy farmhouse outside of Arnold, Nebraska, to Carleton and Fern (Britton) Sasse. After moving to Golden, Colorado, she met her soulmate, Tom, and built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. The couple settled in Dalton Gardens, Idaho, where Carlyn spent 30 years working at a local CPA's office, retiring at 65. Her passions included raising horses and cherishing time with her family.
Carlyn's beauty shone from within, captivating everyone she met. Her elegance, wit, and infectious humor made her loved by all. Family and friends remember her as a tender-hearted yet strong and determined individual who lit up every room. Game nights with her son and daughter-in-law were legendary, with Carlyn often emerging victorious.
Her family adored her thoughtful calls, always beginning with "hello, my darling." She'd remind them about daylight saving time, alarm battery replacements, and shower them with love. Carlyn's hugs were legendary, and her eggplant parmesan recipe was a family favorite. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she selflessly prioritized her family's needs.
Carlyn leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by her husband, Tom Dickerson; sister, Connie Price; children: Duke Ourada Jr (Michelle Ourada), Shelley Ourada Carlson (Rick Carlson); grandchildren: Heather Hamilton (Lloyd Moe), James Lemm, Hunter Ourada; and great-grandchildren, Brooks and Hadley Hamilton; as well as extended family. Being a grandmother brought Carlyn immense joy, and she reveled in every moment with her loved ones.
