Charles "Chuck" Oare, 79

"Chuck" Charles Harvey (Skipper, Pinkie, Buford – as his brothers called him) Oare has joined Jesus, his parents, brothers and other loved ones. He was a good, kind man with a great sense of humor. He was brave enough and good enough to marry a divorcee, Oly (Olivia), with two young boys, Micheal and Todd Boe. They loved him enough they proposed to him "Schuckie Boy, will you marry my mom?" Chuck helped Oly raise the boys to be good citizens and an asset to the community. He was always proud to call them his boys. He was proud to be the Grandpa of Tori, Zoie, Olivia and Quinncey Mae, Alex, Tevan, Sean, Elijah, and Arayah. He is survived by Oly, Micheal, Todd and daughter-in-law Chris and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Merry Ruth and Kenny Dingman, John and Cathy Rider, Robert and Linda Rider and his grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Skip or Uncle Chuck and Godfather. Chuck always had a great outlook on life. After losing his sight in 2001 in an accident he believed God must have more planned for him to do or he would not have survived. He continued to be as independent as possible and helped others like talking Oly through repairing phone trouble for family and friends. He helped Oly build a greenhouse and add a sun room to their home. He ushered at Christ the King, was able to work out independently at the gym, enjoyed walking on the yellow line on the road because the neighbors would often stop to visit with him. He was always ready with a joke or "Chuckism." We are grateful for the help of our great caregivers in assisting us through "the long goodbye" of Parkinson's with dementia presumably caused by exposure to Agent Orange during his tour of duty in Vietnam with the Navy. Hospice of North Idaho has been remarkable in their care and assistance. Thank you to all who visited, helped when needed and supported us through prayer and phone calls. If you feel a need to remember Chuck in a special way tell a "Chuckism", hug a child, pet a dog, be kind. Donations to help children or animals or to Hospice of North Idaho would be appreciated.
