Dwight R. Cooper, 82
Dwight R. Cooper, 82, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away at Malley Transitional Care in Northglenn, Colorado, after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was a patient of Namaste Hospice.
He was born in Miami, Arizona, to Ralph and Dorothy (Gary) Cooper and grew up in the Oklahoma City area.
In 1984, he moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to escape the heat of Oklahoma. It was there he met Elizabeth "Betty" Klaw (Marcenkus). They married on June 17, 1989, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Coeur d'Alene.
Throughout his life, Dwight was a man of many talents and trades. He worked as a boilermaker, bricklayer, school bus driver, and business owner. He proudly ran Cleaning Specialties, his commercial janitorial business, for 35 years until the age of 80.
Those who knew Dwight best will remember his unforgettable laugh, quick wit, and gift for storytelling. He saw the best in every situation and lived life believing that the glass was only half full. His positive attitude was contagious and uplifting. He had a generous heart and was known to offer help with a project, lend a listening ear, or offer words of encouragement.
He loved traveling with Betty, especially to the beautiful coasts of Oregon and Washington, and always enjoyed exploring new places. He was a lifelong sports fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. As a baptized Jehovah's Witness for over 45 years, he and his wife found strength and joy in reading and studying the Bible together.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his sister, Phyllis Cooper (Oklahoma); daughters: Kelly Ellis; and Amy (Greg) Vanness (Oklahoma); sons: Bradley (Judy) Foreshee; Darryl (Regina) Cooper (Texas); Steve Cooper; and Phillip Crandel (Oklahoma); step-children: Michael (Kesha) Klaw (Colorado); Marilyn (Nate) Foti; and Michelle (Casey) Samuels (Idaho); and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly loved but too many to mention each by name.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Cooper; his brothers, Gary (Shirley) and Melton (Joyce) Cooper; and his daughter-in-law, Dawn Cooper.
A memorial service will be held at, 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 951 Milky Way, Thornton, Colorado 80260. To receive the Zoom link, please email:
